The first of many..
A classfellow from university got married recently. The first one from our group actually. She was slated to be second, but the first one had her engagement broken.. so there.
The ceremony was…… okay. It was a segregated event *shudder* which meant that since you have no idea who the brides’ family is, you dont know many people. Period. Plus, there were only us three male friends were there, the rest of the group consists of girls (about 8 of them). We usually all hang out together, but this wasn’t so possible here. Result… boredom! I was in and out of the wedding in under 40 minutes!
Whats funny is…. i spent 45 minutes ironing the kurta i was gonna wear that night
Here’s wishing you a very happily married life T!!

Ha Ha Ha~!
Segregated weddings are common in my family and I actually think it is better – think of all the married men who get free rides and think of lil bachas with waging harmones tsk tsk

January 17th, 2007 at 2:56 pm
ud: u do? hhmm.. guess atleast then u can eat in peace
haha. Waise.. unattached girls have more or less the same problem in segregated weddings as in combined ones :p the ever-present aunties checking them out lolzz
atleast guys dont do that :p we’re busy making business contacts

segregated Weddings are better – firstly its not like we can actually play a battle of eyes with the entire family hovering over the head and secondly there are no eye candies only ugly married men sigh

aah HW.. when there’s a will, there will be a way (for eye battles
)

hmm..segretation in weddings – debatable topic. i guess depends on the guest list!
how about having the uncles aside – while allowing ur cousins and friends join in the hulla gulla? i rmr on my cuzin’s mehndi there was this moochofied uncle who propped his ass right in front, clearly married with a kid oggling on end during our dances – literally drooling – and we got a few shots of him too on pix and vid! *shudder*
i believe that its the hulla gulla btn the bros/sis/cuzins/friends that brings out all the fun in a shaadi. we shud also intro merry making at valeemas…with the new couple taking to the dance floor – what fun!
my friend’s bro’s mehndi was interrupted by rain – and both parties were all out on a dance competition. so it was decided that they have the dances on the baraat. i cudnt make it then coz i ended up with fever frm the cold on the mehndi night..but from the pix, it looked like gr8 fun. i guess it all depends on the family and the company.
i tell u, even aunties ogle and criticize and snigger more than the uncles.
phew! sorry for the long comment there!

@ psyched~ ewww thaz soo grosss
@ ud~ aargghh segregated is damn annoying. the aunties notice u a hell of a lot more nd then they start imagining couples in their heads..not good!

@icedmocha – so you mean to say that in non-segregated functions, they check out the guys also? Heheh…I dont think so…segregated or non-segregated…Aunties are there to check girls….SIMPLE…
January 19th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
iced: its a sad truth, but aunties do go more to check out girls than for anything else
January 19th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
psyched: i miss the weddings with the dance competitions
my cousin’s wedding was like that!! enjoyed the hell out of that!
